Colwick Marina Boat Club (CMBC) will be what’s known as the ‘Controller’ of the personal data you provide to us. We only collect basic personal data about you in order to provide services about your membership. Basic personal data includes name, address, email, contact numbers, boat name and berth.

Why we need your data

We need to know your basic personal data in order to provide you with on-going membership notifications. We will not collect any personal data from you that we do not need in order to provide and manage your club membership.

What we do with your data

All the data we process is processed in by CMBC. However for the purposes of IT hosting and maintenance this information is located in high-security UK data centres. No third parties have access to your personal data unless the law allows them to do so.

How long we keep your data

We are required under UK law to keep your basic personal data for a minimum of 6 years.

What we would also like to do with your data

We would like to use your basic personal data information for marketing purposes to inform you of club updates. The information we hold is not shared with third parties and you can unsubscribe at any time via email.

Photographs and video

CMBC may use images of your social media posting and photographs. This may include (but is not limited to) the right to use them in printed and online publicity such as website, Instagram, Linked In, Twitter, YouTube and our Facebook page(s).

CMBC will hold images by and in compliance with GDPR guidelines.

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website. Please see our privacy policy and GDPR Compliance for more information.

If you prefer not to have your image property featured in one of our videos or shared via Facebook, please let us know in writing.

What are your rights

If at any point you believe the information we process is incorrect you can request to see this information and have it corrected or deleted.
